Notley Abbey Weddings are up there with my favourites and I am lucky enough to have worked there on many occasions. The abbey is beautiful and elegant in an effortless way. The old stone building is so pretty and offers the perfect backdrop to an English country wedding. The venue has such incredible history having once been home to Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. They were known for throwing lavish Hollywood style parties and inviting exclusive guests such as Marilyn Monroe.
The colour palette for this wedding is definitely a firm favourite of mine. The flowers were a variety of pastel and blush tones and were elegantly presented in a range of crystal wear. Gemma personally collected each piece in the run up to the wedding. She worked with the fabulous Rebecca of Gingerlily Flowers to create magic.
Gemma wore an exquisite low back lace gown made by St Patrick by Pronovia. She teamed it with Benjamin Adams bridal shoes. Gemma’s sister and maid of honour wore a blush gown by The Ivory Room in Wooburn Sands. Gemma’s hair and make up artist was the amazing Gemma Sutton.
After a beautiful ceremony, Gemma, Jon and their guests made their way out to the Notley courtyard for a champagne reception. It was a stunning Spring day and the air was filled with the sound of laughter, champagne corks popping and birds singing. Gemma, Jon and I headed to the infamous Notley driveway for some photos – what a beautiful couple! After this we all headed for the barn where a superb Wedding Breakfast was served.
Gemma and Jon, thank you so much for such an amazing day – so many highlights, giggles and special moments. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
