It gives me great pleasure to bring to you the wedding of Kathryn and Andrew. They chose one of my favourite venues, Botleys Mansion, to hold their celebrations. Whatever the season, I love Botleys Mansion Weddings. In this case the mansion provided a welcome sanctuary from the chilly winter air.
My day started in the bridal suite with Kathryn and her maids. The atmosphere was chilled but you could feel an atmosphere of excitement simmering under the surface. Kathryn is American and Andrew is English… in true American tradition, Kathryn and Andrew had a ‘first look’. I love these, such a special (and often very emotional) moment. Kathryn and Andrew’s was perfect on the grand steps of Botleys Mansion.
After this we took family portraits in front of the house, a red London bus (used to bring guests to the venue) and a sparkly Christmas tree. We then headed back into the house for the main event, the marriage.
After a fabulously warm, sweet and romantic ceremony, guests were invited into the hall for drinks and canapés while the string quartet played. When the orangery was ready we made our way over for a delicious banquet. Following this were some great speeches – such lovely stories and memories of Kathryn and Andrews’ childhood. Kathryn and Andrew then took to the floor for a beautiful first dance.
Guests then lined up outside to make a sparkler tunnel for our newly weds before we all watched a spectacular firework display at the front of the house.
A completely wonderful day with such lovely people. Kathryn and Andrew you were so warm, so welcoming, so kind. You have such a special family around you both and I wish you all the very best as husband and wife.
