DESTINATION WEDDINGS PORTUGAL – KYRIA & KEVIN

It brings me enormous pleasure to share this totally amazing wedding with you. From start to finish this wedding was perfect, in every single way. Kevin and Kyria are genuinely fabulous people – they are kind, open, hospitable and as it happens also absolutely gorgeous. They welcomed me into their incredible lives for a whole weekend and it was certainly not one I will forget.

Kyria is from the UK, Kevin is from South Africa and they live in Lagos in Portugal. They run THE place to be in Lagos; a beautiful, quirky, laid back restaurant called The Garden that serves great food. They chose to get married on  a nearby beach and followed up with an incredible reception and party at a huge villa perched up in the hills.

The day kicked off with all hands on deck at the villa; Kyria’s bridesmaids were busy setting tables, creating centre pieces, sweeping up and tying names to favours. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and excitement levels were high. After transforming the villa the girls all dressed and we headed off to the beach. Kyria and her Mum were driven by a friend in his outstandingly cool Mercedes.

The beach looked beautiful with a flower pergola, chairs laid on the sand and an aisle of flowers. Sunbathers couldn’t believe their luck when they realised they had front row seats to the wedding of the year. Kyria’s brother Nathaniel officiated the ceremony which saw the exchange of very personal vows. Sealed with weddings bands and of course a kiss.

After this, guests were treated to a drinks reception in the glorious surroundings while Kevin, Kyria and I headed off for some portraits. The crystal sea and the rugged coastline offered an outstanding backdrop for some intimate photos of our newlyweds.

After, we headed back to the villa where the party began. Kicking off the proceeding were a series of funny, sweet and emotional speeches. Guests then tucked into a delicious meal accompanied by some fabulous wines. The music then got started and the party was in full swing. It was such a fun night!

Kevin and Kyria thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of your day. I wish I could spend the day before all of my weddings sunbathing with the Mother of the Bride! You have such lovely friends and family who welcomed me into your special day with open arms. The hospitality you showed me was second to none and I sincerely hope that I can come back to The Garden again very soon. I wish you a lifetime of happiness x
