One of my favourite parts of getting home from holiday is packaging my films up and sending them off to be processed. It’s such a different experience to the immediacy of digital images. It’s like the ‘olden’ days where you would take your film to Boots; before you’ve even left the shop you are flicking through the pictures laughing out loud at all of your amazing holiday memories.
This year we drove to France to stay in a gite in Normandy. While we were there we did pretty much nothing. Long lazy days in the garden, dipping in and out of the paddling pool, playing tennis, eating crepes, paddling in rivers, drinking coffee, eating baguettes (with the obligatory tomato and cheese), going to the beach, eating cheese and drinking cheap red wine.
Such a lovely week with so many memories. I adore France and I love film. Put them together and I feel very happy.
