I’m so happy to share my favourite pictures from Amy and Stuart’s wedding at Longstowe Hall. This venue is quite simply magnificent. It’s still a family home but it opens the doors for weddings during the summer. If you’re really lucky with the weather your ceremony can be held on the edge of the lake, couples stand on the island to say their vows. It really is idyllic.
Amy is owner of The Know and Bow company – she designs and creates the most beautiful wedding stationery. I was so excited to see her efforts at her own wedding and I wasn’t disappointed. The order of service, the menu cards, the name cards… it was all perfect and a great showcase of Amy’s creativity.
I started my morning with Amy at her lovely home just minutes down the road from Longstowe. The mood was calm and Amy looked beautiful in her lace gown and sparkly shoes. At Longstowe, Amy and Stuart’s guests waited by the lake for the arrival of the bridal party. And what an entrance Amy and her maids made… guests watched as they walked across the lawn accompanied by the sounds of the Spanish guitar. Finally Amy greeted Stuart and they walked over the bridge to the island.
After the beautiful ceremony Amy, Stuart and I headed to the rose garden while guests enjoyed Pimms on the lawn. The sun was shining and the birds were singing, such an incredible place. Following the drinks reception guests headed to the marquee for their wedding breakfast. Following some brilliantly funny speeches, Amy and Stuart kicked off the evening celebrations with their first dance.
Amy and Stuart – thank you so so much for letting me shoot your incredible wedding. I really hope I have the honour of shooting more Longstowe Hall weddings in the future (fingers crossed they are as pretty as yours!)
